Short Introduction
Fagura is a lending-based crowdfunding platform connecting Romanian entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking financing with individual and institutional investors looking for alternative investment opportunities.
About the Company
Fagura was launched in Chișinău in 2019 with the objective of making business financing and alternative investments more accessible through technology. The company now operates from Bucharest and Chișinău through separately regulated entities serving Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
In Romania, the platform is operated by Fagura Finance S.R.L. It facilitates loans granted directly by investors to companies and other eligible project owners seeking capital for business activities. Fagura evaluates each applicant, assigns a risk grade, proposes an interest rate and publishes the approved financing opportunity on its online marketplace.
Investors can review individual companies and select opportunities manually or use predefined criteria through the Auto Invest functionality. Each loan can be financed by multiple investors, enabling them to spread capital across several businesses. Loan agreements are concluded between the investors and the project owner through the platform; Fagura organises and administers the process but does not guarantee repayment or investment performance.
The platform also manages payment allocation, portfolio information, monthly repayments, overdue-loan recovery procedures and a bulletin-board-style Secondary Market through which investors can express an interest in transferring existing loan participations.
Fagura positions this financing marketplace as the foundation of a broader digital financial ecosystem for entrepreneurs. According to the company, its Romanian and Moldovan operations had facilitated more than €22 million in loan investments during their first seven years.
