Short Introduction
ThinkOut is a financial-planning and cash-flow management platform for entrepreneurs and SMEs. It consolidates financial data, including bank transactions, and provides tools for budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and performance analysis.
About the Company
Founded in Iași in 2016, ThinkOut was developed to help business owners replace fragmented spreadsheets with a structured and continuously updated view of their company’s cash flow.
The platform brings together transactions from bank accounts, cash accounts and imported external files. Users can classify receipts and payments, create custom financial categories, monitor balances and compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts. Its planning tools allow managers to model future inflows and outflows, unpaid invoices, recurring transactions and alternative business scenarios.
ThinkOut is designed primarily for entrepreneurs, managers and finance teams in SMEs. It does not operate as accounting software in the conventional sense and does not replace statutory accounting records. Instead, it acts as a management and decision-support layer built around actual and projected cash movements.
Bank-account data can be imported through connections supplied by Salt Edge or uploaded manually. ThinkOut states that it does not store or access users’ online-banking credentials and receives read-only transaction information for analysis.

Licences & Regulatory Status
- Software platform: ThinkOut is primarily a SaaS financial-analysis and management platform. It is not presented as a bank, lender, payment institution, electronic-money institution or investment firm.
- No custody of funds: The platform does not hold customer money or operate customer payment accounts.
- Open Banking connectivity: ThinkOut uses Salt Edge Dashboard/Salt Edge Limited to aggregate bank-account and transaction data. ThinkOut states that its own access is read-only and that it does not retain customers’ online-banking credentials.
- AISP distinction: Accessing account information through regulated Open Banking infrastructure can constitute an account-information service. The regulated connectivity and customer-authorisation layer is supplied through Salt Edge; ThinkOut should not automatically be described as independently licensed as an AISP.
- No BNR licence identified: No evidence was identified in the reviewed public materials that ThinkOut S.R.L. holds a payment-services authorisation from the National Bank of Romania.
- No payment initiation: The reviewed product materials describe importing and analysing transaction data, not initiating payments from customers’ accounts.
- Financial guidance distinction: Forecasts, budgets, scenarios and indicators are management-support tools. They do not constitute regulated investment advice, credit advice, statutory accounting or an audit opinion.
- Data protection: The service processes financial and transaction data and is therefore subject to the GDPR. The current Privacy Policy identifies ThinkOut B.V. as the data controller and describes Salt Edge as a financial-data aggregation partner.
- Contracting-entity distinction: Customers should review their order form, invoice and current platform terms to determine whether their supplier is ThinkOut S.R.L., ThinkOut B.V. or another authorised distributor.
