Leadership

Short Introduction

TrustRelay is a European RegTech company that helps financial institutions and other regulated businesses make defensible company-risk decisions. Its compliance infrastructure brings registry data, ownership information, sanctions and PEP screening, adverse media and other evidence into one reviewable assessment, while keeping the final judgment with the compliance team.

About the Company

TRUST RELAY SRL was incorporated in Bucharest in October 2024, while the TrustRelay business is publicly presented as founded in 2025 and operates with a European market focus. The founding team combines AML/CFT/KYC expertise with financial-services and technology experience, and the company positions its products for banks, payment service providers, insurers, investment firms, marketplaces and other organisations exposed to counterparty and onboarding risk.

TrustRelay is built around evidence-first compliance. Instead of presenting analysts with disconnected searches and screenshots, the platform normalises information from company registries, customer systems, screening providers, open-source intelligence and specialist data into a shared company record. Risk logic can be configured to the institution’s methodology, while sources, findings, reviewer actions and decision history remain attached to the case for later review or audit.

The company emphasises explainability and human oversight: deterministic, versioned rules are used for decision logic, while AI is positioned as an assistive layer for ingestion and explanation rather than as an opaque final decision-maker. TrustRelay is a member of FinTech Belgium and has also participated in the imec.istart accelerator ecosystem.

Products & Services

  • TrustRelay Atlas — the core company-risk and business-posture assessment platform, combining customer data, registries, screening, OSINT, configurable risk logic and supporting evidence in one workflow.
  • TrustRelay Sentry — an ongoing-assurance workflow that brings transaction alerts, sanctions screening, KYC obligations and customer risk into one operational environment.
  • KYB & Corporate Identity Verification — company identity, registry, address, management and legal-entity verification for B2B onboarding and periodic review.
  • Beneficial Ownership & Relationship Analysis — ownership and related-party analysis designed to surface UBO structures, connections and potentially relevant relationship patterns.
  • Sanctions, PEP & Watchlist Screening — screening data incorporated into the same company record used for onboarding, risk assessment and ongoing assurance.
  • Adverse Media & OSINT — open-source and specialist-source intelligence incorporated into a documented counterparty assessment.
  • Configurable Risk Methodology — risk logic that can reflect the customer institution’s own methodology, thresholds and review process rather than imposing a single generic scoring model.
  • Evidence & Audit Trail — source-linked findings with timestamps, reviewer actions and decision history retained for internal review and audit readiness.
  • Trust Capsules / Evidence Exports — shareable evidence packs described in public materials as PDF/JSON outputs containing cited findings, source references and integrity information.
  • API & Data Integration — integration of customer systems, registries, commercial datasets, screening providers and other sources into a canonical company data model.
  • Continuous Monitoring — ongoing monitoring of company-risk signals so relevant changes can be brought back into the review workflow after initial onboarding.

Licences & Regulatory Status

TrustRelay’s regulatory, security and compliance position includes the following:

  • RegTech / technology-provider status: TRUST RELAY SRL provides compliance-intelligence and software infrastructure. Public materials reviewed do not establish that it is itself a bank, payment institution, electronic-money institution or investment firm, and its AML/KYB functionality should not be interpreted as a financial-services licence.
  • EU AML / EBA alignment: TrustRelay publicly positions Atlas around European AML/KYB requirements and risk methodologies, including EBA risk-factor guidance and the incoming EU AML framework. This is product and methodology alignment, not a regulatory authorisation.
  • Human oversight and explainability: The company states that decision logic is based on versioned deterministic rules with human review, while supporting evidence, fired rules and methodology versions are retained to make decisions reproducible and auditable.
  • GDPR and EU-native processing: TrustRelay states that data processing remains within EU jurisdiction and that its architecture follows data-minimisation and privacy-by-design principles.
  • Information-security roadmap: TrustRelay publicly lists ISO 27001:2022 as an implementation programme and ISO 27701:2019 as planned. The public security page reviewed describes these as roadmap items; it does not confirm completed certification, so they are not presented here as certifications already held.
  • Security controls and vulnerability disclosure: Public security materials describe TLS 1.3 in transit, encryption at rest, immutable audit trails, evidence hashing and a coordinated vulnerability-disclosure policy covering TrustRelay services, APIs and integrations.
  • Ecosystem memberships: TrustRelay is publicly listed as a member of FinTech Belgium and has described participation in the imec.istart accelerator programme.
