Short Introduction

Volt is a Romanian personal-finance platform that helps consumers understand their credit profile, monitor their FICO score and access relevant financing options from partner financial institutions through a mobile application.

About the Company

Founded in 2016, Volt Finance develops digital tools designed to make personal credit information easier to understand and use. Through the Volt mobile application, consumers can access information obtained from Biroul de Credit, review factors affecting their FICO score and gain a clearer view of their existing financial obligations.

The platform also uses financial information obtained with the user’s consent—including data from Biroul de Credit and, where applicable, ANAF—to provide explanations, eligibility indications and relevant credit offers from partner institutions. Its Volt AI functionality offers conversational guidance intended to help users understand their financial and credit situation; it does not make lending decisions or provide regulated personalised financial advice.

Volt operates as the technology and distribution layer between consumers and financial-service providers. Credit agreements are concluded directly with the relevant bank or non-bank financial institution, while Volt supplies the digital interface, data-enabled customer journey and technical infrastructure.

The company has progressively expanded the application beyond credit-score monitoring to include partner credit offers, cashback and shopping-related benefits, community functions and access to selected purchases or event tickets with financing options supplied by partners. According to the company’s website, the Volt application has served more than 400,000 users.
