Licences & Regulatory Status

PayU S.A. is a Polish domestic payment institution supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority — KNF. It is included in the payment-institution register under reference IP1/2012 and provides services in Romania using European passporting arrangements.

PayU S.A. should not be presented as a separately licensed Romanian payment institution. Its regulated status is based on the authorisation of the Polish legal entity.

The company is also subject to payment-services, safeguarding, AML, data-protection and strong-customer-authentication requirements. PCI DSS compliance is an information-security standard, not a regulatory licence.
